Well that was an experience. My flight was delayed for push back for almost two hours due to an error in fuel documents. Even the pilot stated that in “his thirty years of working with Delta/KLM, this was the first time he experienced this particular issue.” I felt honored to be part of that history for the pilot. After that, everything was fine for my nine hour flight to Amsterdam.
Upon arrival in Amsterdam I found a few issues with how I prepared for this trip. I had exchanged currency to have Euros on hand, but had not confirmed my credit card pin numbers. So, after traveling for 13 hours, I was now stuck in the airport trying to buy train tickets without a pin for my credit card.
Travel Tip #1: Confirm credit pin numbers prior to leaving

Amsterdam is beautiful. As I looked out the windows of the train, I almost thought that I was just on light rail in Seattle, but then the amount of bikes, canals, and scooters brought me right back to where I was. I am looking forward to the next few days I get to spend in Amsterdam and really get to experience Europe at my own pace.
